Claims for Wages
The Idaho Wage Claim Act provides a statutory basis for employees to pursue claims for unpaid wages against employers. Under the Act, wages can include all wages, salary, commissions, bonuses, and similar benefits which are part of the agreed upon compensation for the job.
Upon termination of employment, the employer must pay all wages due and owing at the time of termination of employment within ten business days or the next regularly scheduled payday, whichever is sooner.
If your employer fails to comply with the Act in Idaho, you are entitled to recover the sum of three times your unpaid compensation, plus potential attorney fees and costs in the matter. However, the statute of limitations on many of these claims can be as short as six months from the date of the non-payment.
